Artist's Statement

I have been interested in the arts all my life, but I never truly considered making a career out of them until I was a sophomore in high school when I discovered my knack for photography. I am still fairly new to photoshopping my work, although I've been using digital editing tools for longer than I have actually been taking photography classes.

My digital photography is very straightforward; I don't have much to tie my work together aside from my angling and composition usage. Much of my work is meant to accent the subtle ambiance and atmosphere in every shot, particularly those taken in the city of Chicago and in various capital cities in central Europe. I haven't quite nailed down a specific style for my photography yet, so anticipate further growth and development in that area. Much of my inspiration comes from the work of Honri Cartier-Bresson, who is known as the father of composition.

My digital art is in a baby stage at the moment due to my having just begun using photoshop this past August. I gravitate towards two different styles; symmetrical and straightforward, and graphic and modern. I'm still in an experimental stage when it comes to these and I do not have many examples to show yet.

My photography work is generally aimed at all audiences, perhaps ages sixteen and up, because most of those younger than sixteen or seventeen do not always appreciate the work that goes into true artistic photography. My digital work is aimed essentially at the same group, although persons past the age of fifty or so may not be able to appreciate it as well.
